Firstly, a detailed case history is taken and then discussed covering any health issues you may have. Following on we discuss how colonics works, nutrition and the detoxification process. The actual procedure is then talked through in detail with the aim being to put your mind at ease before commencing.

In privacy you will be asked to remove your clothing from the waist down, and lie down on the treatment bed. Initially you lie on your back with a large towel draped over your waist. This towel remains throughout the session. You will then roll on to your left side where a lubricated, single-use disposable speculum is gently inserted approximately 2 1/2 inches. The insertion is done in literally two seconds, draping and a modesty towel are employed to protect your privacy and any feelings of embarrassment.

You then roll on to your back leaving one knee slightly bent which allows space for the therapist to hold and maintain downward pressure on the waste tube (and hence ensure that the speculum remains secure throughout the treatment).

The therapist very slowly introduces finely filtered, body temperature water into the body via a thin tube which connects to the speculum. The water makes its way through the 1 to 11/2 meters of large intestine (colon), gradually building pressure. Throughout the treatment the therapist is watching the pressure gauge on the machine, whilst checking in with you on your comfort level. Only around 1/2 a litre to 1 litre of water is introduced at any one time.

When the time comes to "release" the water, the waste evacuates through a waste tube which connects back to the machine, passes through a perspex viewing tube, and then straight into the sewerage system. The system is designed so that everything is contained within the waste tube so that there is no sound or odour.

Most treatments take around 40 -45 minutes. In this period, approximately 10-15 cycles of "fills" and "releases" are undertaken. It is usually the second half of the treatment that is most productive as usually by this time much pressure has been released, and matter loosened up sufficiently to allow the colon to start strong peristaltic movement.

The therapist stays with you throughout the session, with their aim being to keep you as relaxed and comfortable as possible throughout. Gentle abdominal massage is employed during the session to assist with returning the water and stimulating the colon to "release".

Colonic Guide At Boda, we use the "Dotolo Toxygen" which is the latest model from equipment maker Dotolo, widely acknowledged as the premium colon hydrotherapy equipment maker worldwide.

Following the initial treatment a treatment plan is discussed. For most people we recommend our 14 Day or 21 Day Intestinal Cleanse programs, followed by maintenance as appropriate.

Boda maintains the strictest hygiene and safety standards, in a pristine, discreet environment. Colon Hydrotherapy is administered by a qualified Colon Hydro-therapist, professionally trained and accredited by the Australian Colon Hydrotherapy Association (ACHA).
